Burnsco Product Search
An AI shopping assistant that knows Burnsco's entire catalogue. Describe what you need in plain English and get the right products back.
The idea
I work at Burnsco, New Zealand's boating, fishing and RV retailer, and I see the same thing every day: customers don't arrive knowing product names and part numbers, they arrive with a problem. "My battery keeps dying overnight." "I need a lifejacket for my five-year-old." A search box can't answer that, but an assistant that speaks boating can.
The build
The prototype puts Burnsco's full catalogue, over six thousand products with live pricing and stock, behind a Claude-powered assistant. You chat naturally, it works out what you're actually trying to solve, searches the range, and answers with real product cards you can click straight through to the store.
It handles follow-up questions in context, so "which of those fits a kayak?" just works, like talking to the most patient staff member in the shop.
Where it's at
A working, Burnsco-branded prototype is built and deployed. I'm looking for the right people within Burnsco to demonstrate it to.
